Forte nominated for major rushing award

The Chicago Bears Matt Forte had another very strong 2013 season. While the team was dealing with injuries (not to mention, tough choices) at the quarterback position, #22 did his thing. He ran the ball hard and was a great option out of the backfield for either Josh McCown or Jay Cutler.

For his efforts during the team’s 8-8 season, Forte today was nominated for FedEx Ground Player of the Year.

Forte completed the 2013 season starting all 16 games for the Bears. He finished with career highs in both yards and touchdowns with 1339 yards and nine touchdowns. Forte also finished the season third in receptions among NFL running backs with 74 total catches. Only Pierre Thomas and Danny Woodhead had more receptions.
