The NFL should rename their MVP the “Peyton Manning Trophy.”
While Manning is likely on his way to winning an unprecedented fifth NFL MVP, he’s been nominated for another award, one fans can vote on.
That’s right, you can vote on Peyton Manning as FedEx Air Player of the Year by clicking here.
Manning, who won FedEx Air Player of the Week four times this season, goes up against Drew Brees (five-time winner) and Philip Rivers (one win).
Statistically, it’s not even close.
Manning threw for NFL records in touchdowns (55) and yards (5,744) while his Denver offense scored more points, 606, than any other ever.
Brees is second in both categories among the three, with 39 touchdowns and 5,162 yards, while Rivers is last at 32 scoring throws and 4,478 passing yards.
Going a little more in-depth, Manning’s 115.1 rating was second-best in the NFL this season to Nick Foles (119.2), while Rivers came in fourth (105.5) and Brees sixth (104.7).
