Jones played final weeks with hidden injury

James Jones played through a lot of pain this season. In fact, the Green Bay Packer wide receiver played the last couple weeks of the season with broken ribs. An injury that he kept to himself, keeping him off of the weekly injury report.

“I pride myself on being tough,” Jones told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “I broke my ribs in Pittsburgh. But I played through it, practiced through it. You know, when you practice through it, you don’t have to put it on the injury report or none of that because I’m out there at practice every day. Its part of the game. You’ve got to go out there.”

Now that Jones is a free-agent he is able to speak about things such as withholding injury information. He did, however, expand on the fact that his case might not be so unique.

“There’s a lot of guys out there that’s playing with injuries that people don’t know about – and then put themselves on the line for their team.”
