It’s official. Johnny Football is now going to be Johnny Pro Football, as Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel announced on Wednesday that he was declaring himself eligible for the NFL Draft in May.
In the coming months, everyone will debate whether or not the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner can excel at the next level. Coaches, general managers, fans and media members will argue about whether or not his unique talents can translate from the college to the pro game.
But that’s another topic for another day. Instead, it’s time to celebrate the fact that one of the most-unique personalities in all of sports (college, pro or any level) is taking his talents to an NFL city. The possible storylines are endless, as it’s impossible to predict what Manziel will do next, although there’s about a .0001 percent chance he’ll be wearing a Denver Broncos uniform.
