The awards just keep piling on for two Detroit Lions superstars.
Calvin Johnson and Ndamukong Suh were named to the Pro Football Writers Association’s All-NFL team for 2013. Despite the teams self-destruction in the regular season, falling from a potential No. 3 seed in the postseason to missing the playoffs for the second straight year, the two athletes have managed to hold up the team and prove tht Detroit is a team that can win. Which may prove to be an important factor as the Lions search for the next head coach.
Both Johnson and Suh were voted into the Pro Bowl as well as earning All-Pro honors.
The awards will greatly help Detroit in searching for a new skipper as these honors prove that the Lions have a lot of talent and are not in need of any major rebuilding. Head coaching canadates won’t be looking at this team the way Jim Schwartz had to after 2008.
The PFWA voting is done by accredited members of the media that cover the NFL.
