Antrel Rolle assigned to Team Rice for Pro Bowl

Antrel Rolle is going to the Pro Bowl after all and he has been assigned to Hall of Famer Jerry Rice’s team.

This year’s Pro Bowl marks the first time during which the teams are organized by captains rather than their respective confereneces. Via fantasy draft, team captains Rice and fellow Hall of Famer Deion Sanders have spent the past two days selecting their team members for Sunday’s game.

The Giants safety will likely be the backup for the Bills’ Jairus Byrd. This will be Rolle’s third Pro Bowl appearance and second since joining the Giants in 2010.

The 31-year-old was upset when he had learned that he was not selected to appear in the Pro Bowl last month. It was announced Monday, however, that he would replace the Seahawks’ Earl Thomas on Sunday in Honolulu.
