Very few teams in the NFL right now have the luxury of an elite, unflappable franchise quarterback. Even the mighty Peyton Manning—who had the greatest regular season by any quarterback in NFL history—looked like Geno Smith last night on the biggest stage of all. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns have multiple QBs on their roster all at the same level of play; teams like the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets have starters they’re not necessarily sold on yet. And teams like the Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers simply can’t do any worse.
We in New England should never take for granted what a blessing Tom Brady is.
Fortunately for the teams on the bottom of the ladder, there are some exciting options at quarterback in the 2014 draft. Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater have dominated the conversation thus far, but a few names you might not have heard yet are rocketing up the list.
