Antonio Pierce to coach high school football
Former Giants linebacker and current ESPN analyst Antonio Pierce will be named the head football coach at Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, Calif., according to a report by Gazettes.

Pierce has big shoes to fill, per the Gazettes, as the two head coaches preceding him were the school’s winningest coaches in history. Fortunately, the former Giant has plenty of experience.

Originally from Compton, Pierce turned an undrafted free-agent deal with the Washington Redskins into a 10-year career that included a Pro Bowl selection in 2006 and a Super Bowl championship in 2007, both while a member of the Giants.

The school is expected to formally announce the hire in a press conference at 2 p.m. PT.
