Another surgery for DX could end his Chargers career

U-T San Diego’s Michael Gehlken has reported that Danario Alexander underwent a second surgery on the ACL that kept him out of action in 2013. This is bad news for both the Chargers and Alexander. Throughout the offseason we have spotlighted the Chargers need for another playmaker at wide receiver. Even working under the assumption that Alexander was returning, the Chargers need someone opposite Keenan Allen to draw double coverage away from the budding superstar. During Senior Bowl week, I, and everyone else watching saw a load of potential in Wyoming wide out Robert Herron. The draft is full of boom-or-bust type receivers with the right pick having the ability to aid the San Diego offense. Let’s all cross our fingers that Malcolm Floyd’s injury ends up not being career-threatening. All of a sudden, the Bolts are looking thin at wide receiver.

Listen to Eric Weddle and Shareece Wright talk about the secondary moving forward.
