Having played basketball at Bradley University, Marcus Pollard joined the Colts as an undrafted free agent in 1995. Standing at 6-foot-3 and weighing 255 pounds he added protection to the pass and run game; however, his basketball background separated him from other tight ends as he was one of the better receiving tight ends at the time. Having his best season in 2001, Pollard had 47 receptions and eight touchdowns. With Dallas Clark joining the ranks later on, Pollard found himself surfing around the league playing for the Lions, Seahawks, Patriots and Falcons.

Where is he now:

Pollard didn’t let leaving the NFL keep him from being active. Along with his wife, Amani, he participated in the reality show The Amazing Race. The duo came in third place overall.  Below they are pictured (leftmost) with the other contestants from the 19th season. The star-studded cast also included a couple from the show Survivor (Ethan and Jenna), and Olympic Snowboarders Andy Finch and Tommy Czeschin.

Currently Pollard is the Director of Player Development for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars website explains that “in his role, Pollard coordinates all team life skills programming as well as the Jaguars rookie club and NFL Rookie Success Program. In addition, he works closely with players on continuing education, career internships, professional development, employee assistance and financial education.”

From reality TV to the front office, Pollard’s found quite a niche post his playing days.
