The Pats might need one of these free-agent quarterbacks


Tom Brady: greatest of all time? Might be.

Ryan Mallet? We’ll see—but maybe not as a Patriot.

New England is likely to shop their backup around this offseason, and in the event of Mallet’s departure, they’ll need a suitable second-string in case Brady needs a day off.

Fortunately for the Pats, there are a number of reliable veteran quarterbacks hitting the market on March 11, some of whom can be had for relatively cheap.

Of note is Chad Henne, who did a decent job with an awful supporting cast in Jacksonville, and has already been speculated to be a good fit for the Patriots scheme.
