Each Friday, we’re going to take a quick look at a former Ram who has recently played for the team and see what he’s up to now.
This week, our cover32 sites are focusing on running backs, so I figured I would focus on an under-the-radar running back that used to play for the Rams. Hell, you know what Marshall Faulk and Steven Jackson are doing these days – but what about Brian Leonard?
For some reason, the Rams picked Leonard in the second round of the 2007 draft even though Jackson was the entrenched starter, plus Leonard had quite a few question marks coming into the draft.
Sure enough, Leonard was a giant bust. He averaged 3.5 yards per carry on 88 attempts for the Rams in 18 games before being released after the 2008 season.
However, Leonard has somehow stuck around. He played four seasons for the Cincinnati Bengals before catching on with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season. He’s an unrestricted free agent this year though, so his time might finally have come. We’ll see.
Who are the top five hidden gems drafted by the Rams?
