Karlos Dansby won’t be tagged


The Arizona Cardinals have decisions to make when it comes to personnel but one of them won’t involve Karlos Dansby. The linebacker will not be given the franchise tag by the Cardinals. According to Pro Football Talk.com┬ásince Dansby has been tagged twice with the franchise tag, hitting him with it a third time would jack his salary sky-high.

Like quarterback high.

Like $14 million a year or so high.

This is part of the new CBA that prevents teams from repeatedly tagging players in an effort to retain them. The tag can only be used twice before this penalty kicks in on the third time.

Dansby’s good, but not worth that kind of money. It would be counter-productive after Larry Fitzgerald restructured his deal to be more cap-friendly,
