The New York Jets might not be convinced Geno Smith is their starting quarterback for next season.
According to the New York Daily News, The Jets are looking at Bears quarterback Josh McCown just in case Smith takes a step back this year. This also likely spells the end of the Mark Sanchez era in New York.
McCown had 13 touchdowns and one interception with the Bears last season in five starts. He impressed while filling in for an injured Jay Cutler.
The Bears and McCown have both expressed mutual interest but McCown will have plenty of suitors around the league as a backup. NFL free agency begins March 11.
