Breaking: Falcons to release key defensive veteran

Two yeas after resigning Thomas DeCoud to a 5-year extension Atlanta has decided to part ways with their former draft selection. This move will reportedly save the Falcons around $3 million in cap space, per Yahoo! Sports. This move does not come as a surprise for cover32 Atlanta, as many of the staff had been foretelling this grim future for months. DeCoud is expected to be released before he is due a large portion of his base salary. All signs point towards the move to be made prior to March 15. This now confirms the speculation that Atlanta will need to find their new starting free safety. Free Agency is just around the corner, expect Atlanta to make a splash. Stay tuned.
