The Arizona Cardinals got some welcome news that the NFL salary cap is going to be higher than originally projected.
According to Marc Sessler on NFL.com, the cap is projected to be above $130 million, an increase of $4 million over the initial projections in the neighborhood of $126 million.
The extra $4 million, combined with the money saved in Larry Fitzgerald’s restucturing, will give Arizona a better shot at signing key free agents of its own. This should increase the chances that Karlos Dansby stays a Cardinal in 2014 though nothing is certain as of now.
The downside is that everyone else will have the extra money to play with as well. It equates to an extra $128 million to be potentially spent around the league as a whole.
