Contract talks have begun in Flowery Branch

The Atlanta Falcons have reportedly begun negotiations with Defensive Tackles Johnathan Babineaux and Corey Peters. This would make sense as Atlanta would be literally without an interior line if they let them both walk into Free Agency. Atlanta should be able to retain both players for a “hometown” discount, but do not expect Atlanta to give in to any major contract demands.

It has also been reported via ProFootballTalk that the Falcons are also speaking with their number one priority Joe Hawley, the former fourth round selection has shown flexibility to play both Center and Guard. Hawley was one of the few bright spots on the offensive line last season, he is expected to resign with the Falcons.

Atlanta is reportedly $26.7 million under the cap, meaning they can pursue big name targets i.e. Jarius Byrd from Buffalo.
