With Robert Mathis anchoring the linebacking core the Indianapolis Colts need to add more depth around him.
Pat Angerer struggled last season and lost his starting job, and Erik Walden under performing as well. Bjoern Werner will be coming into his second season, and it is still too early to tell if he will be able to transition to the NFL and the 3-4 scheme. So the Colts need to add a veteran that can come in and start right away. Enter Perry Riley.
Riley has started the last two season in Washington for the Redskins and has become a consistent player. He is only 26 years old and is not a house hold name. For the Colts they can secure up a starter who has over 300 career tackles and 7.5 sacks.
With enough room to in salary cap space, the Colts can add him without dipping too much into their pocket. A solid piece to a defense that needs much improvement heading into the 2014 season.
