Panthers re-sign a key veteran

The Carolina Panthers announced Friday they have re-signed kicker Graham Gano to a 4-year contract. The deal is worth $12.4 million over its lifetime. Gano will be 27 next season and was arguably the best kicker in the NFL in 2013. He nailed 24 of 27 field goal attempts, including all six from 50+ yards. Gano also had the highest touchback rate on kickoffs of any kicker since 1994. He is the first of the Panthers’ 21 unrestricted free agents to re-sign with the club.
