Jarret Johnson restructures, expect a move tomorrow

Jarret Johnson has restructured his contract saving the team $1 million in cap space. Wheelin’ and Dealin’ Tom Telesco is at it again. He keeps one of his veteran leaders — and at position with question marks (Dwight Freeney and Melvin Ingram) — Johnson brings reliability and proven efficacy. I imagine, on the eve of the official start of free agency, this move was made in order to free up some space for a signing to be executed tomorrow. A real selfless move here by Johnson. It’s these type of decisions that create championship teams as he takes a $1 million dollar pay-cut.

Let’s see if we’re right, tomorrow may bring a new member to the Chargers family.

What do you think of Steve Smith if he gets cut by the panthers. He and Allen seem to play with some attitude, I think he could be the perfect mentor for him and maybe light a fire under Vincent.. McCoy has history with Smiff as well

@TMmC Smith may be a very good veteran option if the Chargers don’t attract James Jones or Hakeem Nicks (or address in the draft). His size concerns me as the Bolts will definitely have Eddie Royal and his small stature under contract this year, but I could see this move made later in free agency.
