Mike Jones of the Washington Post reported on Twitter that Andre Roberts has reached a deal to sign with the Redskins. Roberts, 26, had 43 catches for 471 yards and two touchdowns last season with Arizona.
The deal can’t be made official until 1 pm today when the new league year opens. Roberts would be joining Pierre Garcon in the Redskins receiving corps. Santana Moss is a free agent to be and it’s not clear if he will be re-signed for another season the nation’s capital. Roberts’ role with Washington will hinge on the return of Moss.
For Arizona, it looks like the third and fourth wide receiver spots are going to be up for grabs. Who will fill the role behind Larry Fitzgerald and Michael Floyd? We might find that answer out today.
