Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic said on Twitter that he’s hearing linebacker Karlos Dansby is headed to the Browns. The deal is reportedly for four years and $24 million with $14 million guaranteed.
While we get the Kleenex ready for about an hour from now, it still leaves Arizona with a potential issue at inside linebacker. Dansby could be gone. Daryl Washington could be in legal trouble pending his April 30th court date.
Dansby could be the one to replace D’Qwell Jackson who signed earlier with Indianapolis. Last season, Dansby tore it up on the field with 122 tackles, 19 passes defensed, 6.5 sacks, four interceptions and a pair of touchdowns.
Ouch. It’s a big loss to stomach, should it go down in the next hour.
Kevin Minter looks to be the next in line should Dansby depart. Or it could be a free agent signing that provides some relief.
Free agency officially opens in about 45 minutes.
