Philadelphia Eagles' day 1 free agency recap

Day one of free agency is nearly in the books. Here’s a quick nightly update on the Philadelphia Eagles’ situation:

– The Eagles were able to address the safety position early on, signing Malcolm Jenkins to a three-year contract.

– The team also resigned Donnie Jones to a three-year deal as well, locking up one of the better punters in the NFL.

– There are really no misses right now. You can count Jairus Byrd as a miss if you want, but the money he got suggests that he might have just been way too expensive. At the very least, the Eagles get a pretty solid player in Jenkins. It’s a good deal for the Birds.

– The Eagles are reportedly pursuing former Cowboys OLB DeMarcus Ware, but a few teams may stand in the way of that interest. Be sure to follow our running commentary post for up-to-the-minute news.
