Bears make a decision on Charles Tillman

The Chicago Bears have re-signed cornerback Charles Tillman to a one-year deal.

The two-time Pro Bowl player has 36 interceptions in 11 seasons with the Bears. He also has 40 forced fumbles in his career.

Tillman visited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week before deciding to come back to Chicago. Former Bears head coach Lovie Smith was thought to have an inside edge on bringing in Tillman but the two sides could not agree on a deal.

Tillman played in only eight games last season due to injuries. He’s appeared in 154 games as a Bear with 150 starts. Tillman will return as the starting corner along side fellow Pro Bowl player Tim Jennings who was re-signed by the Bears earlier this year.
