Evan Dietrich-Smith has reached an agreement with a team. Unfortunately for Aaron Rodgers, Dietrich-Smith did not re-sign with Green Bay.
The center is taking his talents to Tampa Bay with a four-year, $14.25 million deal that solidifies the team’s offensive line. Smith started at center for the Packers last season and was a productive member of the line. He was instrumental in opening holes for Eddie Lacy and will now do so for Doug Martin.
Tampa Bay invested a good amount of money in Dietrich-Smith because it is highly likely that the Bucs will start Mike Glennon at quarterback. Glennon has potential as a second-year signal caller, but he needs time to make decisions and Smith will help him with that.
Now, the Packers have to find a replacement in the thin free agent market or the draft.
