Bears release Earl Bennett

The Bears have released wide receiver Earl Bennett. ESPN Chicago reported earlier he refused to take a pay cut for the second time this season prompting the release.

Bennett played all six of his seasons in the NFL with the Bears. He had 185 receptions and 12 touchdowns.

The scheduled cap hit for Bennett was $2.45 million. Bennett lowered his salary by $1 million last year.
