Top defensive tackles in the draft, finding Dwan Edwards’ replacement?

The NFL Draft is coming up and while defensive tackle doesn’t seem like the Carolina Panthers’ biggest need after doubling down in the first two rounds last year with Star Lotulelei and Kawann Short, you can never be sure with Dave Gettleman. Linebacker didn’t seem like a huge need two years ago when Carolina took Luke Kuechly in the Top 10.

From his time with the New York Giants, where he won two Super Bowls with dominant defensive lines, Gettleman favors front seven players. Those Giants teams all had a strong rotation of defensive linemen to bring in. Factor in that starter Dwan Edwards will be 33 in May and suddenly, taking a defensive tackle in the first four rounds doesn’t seem crazy. Who could entice the Panthers? Check out the list of the top 10 defensive tackles in the draft here.
