The top 10 OLB in the draft: Could the Chargers add another pass rusher?


Outside linebacker is one of the more interesting positions for San Diego entering 2014. The position could be viewed as a deep one if you think Dwight Freeney will return to form, and Melvin Ingram continues his above average play from the end of last year. If you take a more pessimistic route, it could be defined as a position of need with Dwight Freeney unproven in a Charger uniform and Melvin Ingram unable to stay healthy consistently. I, for one, chose the former outlook as Dwight Freeney is a nightmare for any offensive lineman when he is on the field. Additionally, Melvin Ingram may be the biggest reason the Chargers defense started to figure it out late in 2013, and guys like Jarret Johnson and Thomas Keiser are outstanding depth players. With that being said, I would still like to see the Chargers draft another pass rusher to learn from the elder statesmen, Freeney. When it comes to pass rushers, you can never have enough, as exemplified by the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks last season. If the Chargers can add one of these 10 players, the Bolts could get a steal at a crucial position…
