Chris Johnson expected to be released before offseason workouts begin

As nearly every big storyline this offseason has concluded, it appears the Tennessee Titans and Chris Johnson’s relationship is nearly over.

The Titans have flirted with trading Johnson or outright releasing the back, and it appears Tennessee is leaning toward the latter.

He’s overpaid and has seen his production fall in recent years. It should come as no surprise that Tennessee couldn’t move the running back and unless he were willing to take a drastic pay cut, it made no sense for him to remain with the team.

Look for the Titans to chase a running back in the draft as well as linebacker and defensive lineman.
