The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Colts and Raiders WR Darrius Heyward-Bey to a one-year contract.

Heyward-Bey is a former No. 7 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft but has so far failed to live up to those lofty expectations.

In four seasons with Oakland and last year in Indianapolis, Heyward-Bey has compiled decent numbers, catching 12 touchdowns and averaging 14.1 yards per catch.

Heyward-Bey is in the mold of former Steelers star wideout Mike Wallace in that he has jets for miles and has the ability to stretch a defense.

Terms of the deal were not yet released.
