Bears will get a tune up against the defending Super Bowl champs

The 2014 preseason schedule was released today. The precise dates have been decided yet but the Bears will open the period against the Philadelphia Eagles sometime during the weekend of Aug. 7-10.

The game against the Eagles will be a home game. They will follow that with another home game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The preseason will conclude on the road. The marque matchup will be against the defending champion Seattle Seahawks. This is the third preseason game which means the starters will play through most of the game.

It will be a good barometer to see where this team is against the best in the league. Head coach Marc Trestman has to be excited about testing his offense in a hostile environment like Seattle.

The Bears will wrap up the preseason in Cleveland against the Browns at the end of August. The club’s matchup against the Jaguars will be a nationally televised game on ESPN on Aug. 14.
