Will any of these safeties end up with the Detroit Lions in the 2014 draft?

The Detroit Lions have made moves the last few offseasons to completely overhaul the safety position. While the team could argue it improved, if only in consistency, by releasing often injured Louis Delmas and signing James Ihedigbo to replace him, there is still room for improvement.

Before the 2013 the Lions signed free agent safety Glover Quin and are certainly pleased with what they have in him. Delmas was a good hitter, but couldn’t practice because of knee problems and made some glaring errors. Ihedigbo comes over from the Baltimore Ravens and along with new coordinator Teryl Austin, they hope to install some of the defensive schemes and qualities both worked with in Baltimore.

All that aside, the Lions are still seen as a likely possibility to draft a safety in the first round, and with that in mind, here’s a list of the top prospects at the position in this years upcoming draft. Do you think the Lions should draft a safety or stand pat with what they have? I’d rather see a cornerback or a trade up for linebacker Khalil Mack.
