Washington Redskins film study: Jay Gruden's 'Ace formation' in the hole


If you haven’t heard already, the former offensive coordinator of the Cincinnati Bengals, Jay Gruden, is now head coach of the Washington Redskins. In this video, we take a deeper look into Gruden’s single back “Ace” formation, a design he used regularly in Cincinnati. With newly-acquired deep threat DeSean Jackson and chains-moving Andre Roberts, the offense now is scarier than ever.

With a similar zone blocking scheme Redskins personnel are already used to executing, it’s easy to see why Chief Knockahoma (Alfred Morris) is still a big threat for the Washington offense.
