Analyzing who the ‘experts’ have the Jaguars drafting with the third overall selection

Nine days.

That is all that remains between the entire country and three hours of nothing but anticipation, excitement, good food, cold drinks, friends and football. That’s right, the 2014 NFL draft is almost here.

As the draft approaches, it raises the question, now that free agency is over with and pro days have come and gone and teams are wrapping up pre-draft visits, who do the ‘experts’ say the Jacksonville Jaguars will take with the third overall selection in the draft?

The opinion is quite varied.

I for one, attribute the wide range of opinions to several factors including the lack of a franchise quarterback, the depth at several positions, and just the sheer amount of talent and play-making ability in this draft class.

If the team isn’t able to back a few spots and add some extra picks, I have a feeling that they’ll go with wide receiver Sammy Watkins out of Clemson. With the uncertainty surrounding Justin Blackmon and the reality that the Jaguars’ receiving corp lacks a true threat, adding a guy like Watkins give the Jaguars a weapon like they’ve never had before.

Before we dive into this, here’s a hint, while a few people here and there have mocked Central Florida’s Blake Bortles or Louisville’s Teddy Bridgewater to the Jaguars, those opinions have greatly changed. There appears to be three prospects that people believe the Jaguars could take with the third overall pick, let’s find out who likes who.
