Earlier today the Atlanta Falcons announced that they will be exercising their right to extend Julio Jones’ rookie deal through 2015.

Jones is currently rehabbing his foot injury with trainer Marty Lauzon. He is expected to be back to full strength later this summer. This move is not unexpected, the stand out receiver is on the cusp on negotiation a very hearty contract extension with the Falcons. This fifth-year option allows for the Falcons to guarantee his services through at least 2015.

Julio Jones will make over $10 million with this fifth-year option, however he is expected to make a heck of a lot more in the coming years. Atlanta will make him one of the highest paid offensive players in the coming seasons.
