NFL mock draft 3.0: Should the San Francisco 49ers trade up for a WR in the 1st round?

Eight days. That’s how long remains until the NFL Draft is finally upon us, an event that was pushed back two weeks this year, but feels like it’s two months late.

Soon, all of the pre-draft nonsense will be over. The Scouting Combine will be in the rearview mirror. There won’t be any more pro days or private workouts. And the rumor mill will close up shop. Finally, teams will be on the clock and making picks.

Who will each team take? Based on the latest information, the editors at cover32 have put together version 3.0 of their first-round mock draft. Here’s how they see things unfolding on May 8.

As for the 49ers, rumors are flying that they might try to trade up to land Sammy Watkins or Mike Evans. With the draft being so deep at wide receiver, we still see them adding to their defense at No. 30 and taking their chances on a wide receiver in the second round.

We Need a Red Zone WR. To that end EVAN’s is the very best and trade up and get him. We did not go to the SB last season because in part Kap threw a tad low but Sherman is taller than any of our receivers and can blanket them……Enter Mike Evans @ 6’5″ and longer arms than Sherman if we had Evans last season we would have gone to the Super Bowl. No one on the Seahawks can cover Evan’s Beckham and even Watkins are too short (think Julio Jones) and clearly Evan’s height and arms will burn Sherman. Lets celebrate the new stadium in Santa Clara with this pick of Evans. Seattle spent the farm on Harvin, we can get a rookie with more impact and have money next year for others, heck Crabs may even leave. We need Evans now if nothing else for a possible replacement. The next draft of 2015 who knows? However, but Evans can be the game changer.
