Three potential players the Colts could select with their first pick

With the 59th pick in the NFL draft the Indianapolis Colts select…..

Those are the words former Colts great Marvin Harrison will say this Friday night when the Colts make their first selection in the draft.

Expect Ryan Grigson and Chuck Pagano to either attack the needs at interior offensive line or safety first. So with that I have come up with the three most likely picks the Colts will make come Friday night.

3. Jimmie Ward- Northern Illinois SS

Ward has been gone in some “experts” mock draft as high a mid first round, or as low as late second. If Ward somehow slipped down the board the Colts would be fools not to take him, as he would be a perfect pairing with LeRon Laundry.

Ward’s ability to become a strong coverage safety would play in perfect with Laundry;s hard hitting style, allowing the two to become a solid starting pair in the NFL. The only reason I have him here at number three is because I believe there is about a five percent chance he lasts this long during the draft.
