On July 26, 2014, the Fulham Football Club of the Barclays Premier League, owned by Jaguars owner Shahid Khan, will play a friendly against D.C. United in preparation for their 2014 season. The match will be hosted by the Jaguars and SMG.
There is great passion in the Jacksonville area for soccer, and this will be a rare opportunity to see our Fulham team play in Jacksonville, and against one of the premier professional franchises in American soccer. – Shahid Khan
That wasn’t all that was set to go down that night–the world’s largest scoreboards are also going to be unveiled following the soccer match at Everbank Field.
Now, things have gotten just a bit more exciting.
Tuesday evening, the team announced that the match between Fulham and D.C. United would start at 6 p.m. Following the match, at around 8 p.m., the new stadium video boards will be officially unveiled for the first time. The brand new, HD video boards will be the largest in the world, measuring 60 feet high by 362 feet wide.
But what comes after the unveiling is the highlight of the evening.
The winner of the fourth season of ‘American Idol’, country superstar Carrie Underwood will be performing a 75-minute concert that will start at 8:30 p.m.
This will be an historic evening for our community and a memorable experience for fans of the Jaguars, fans of soccer, and fans of Carrie Underwood. It’s really three major events in one evening in Jacksonville, and I know Jacksonville will respond and celebrate like no other city in the nation. We’re proud to offer this at no cost to our season ticket members as another way to show our appreciation for their support. – Shahid Khan
That’s right, tickets for the entire evening – the soccer match, the unveiling and the concert – will be FREE to Jaguars season ticket members as part of the team’s ‘Jags365’ program. Each season ticket member will be able to request the same number of tickets for July 26 as are in their Jaguars account.
Haven’t renewed your season tickets yet? Don’t worry!
According to a press release from the team, any season ticket members who have not yet renewed for the 2014 season may do so before Saturday, May 10 in order to keep their current seat location for the 2014 season.
At a later date, the team will provide information on how season ticket members can register for the event on July 26 as you must renew your season tickets or purchase new ones by May 30 in order to be eligible to request your tickets for the free event.
The press release didn’t indicate information on tickets for non-season ticket members other than to say that might become available at a later date and time.
