5 things you need to know about the newest Philadelphia Eagles receiver

The Philadelphia Eagles traded up to No. 42 overall to grab Vanderbilt WR Jordan Matthews. Here are five things you need to know about Nick Foles’ newest target.

1. Experience isn’t an issue — Matthews has played a lot since his freshman season. He even started 10 games that year.

2. Matthews has lineage on his side — his cousin is Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice.

3. Matthews was a 1st-Team All-American in 2013.

4. He’s tough, smart and a good blocker. Not to mention, he has a good combination of size and speed to go along with good hands and route running ability.

5. He rewrote the SEC receiving record books. Matthews set conference records for career receptions (262) and receiving yards (3,759).
