Sacked! After drafting Johnny Manziel, Browns cut former Pro Bowler Vince Young

11 days ago the Cleveland Browns signed quarterbacks Tyler Thigpen and Vince Young to their roster. Seven days ago the Browns drafted quarterback Johnny Manziel with the 22nd pick in the first round. Today, the Browns cut quarterback Vince Young.

Young didn’t play in the NFL last season after being cut by the Green Bay Packers in the preseason.

The 2006 Rookie of the Year, two-time Pro Bowler (’06 & ’09) and the 2009 Comeback Player of the Year appears to have played his final down as a quarterback in the NFL.

The Browns quarterback depth chart now holds the names of Manziel, Thigpen and last years starter, Brian Hoyer.

Even with the first-round quarterback, Hoyer insists he will remain the starting quarterback.
