The Falcons almost traded with the Jaguars on Day 1 of the NFL Draft

The Falcons almost traded up to #3 overall on Thursday. According to Peter King of SI’s MMQB. There was a trade discussed that would have had the Falcons trading away their third-round selection to flip spots with the Jaguars.

The most interesting aspect of this trade is that Atlanta was not targeting Khalil Mack. According to King, Atlanta coveted Jake Matthews. The Jags backed out of the deal because they were afraid someone would take Bortles (Browns or Raiders) before picking again at sixth.

How do you feel about Jake Matthews now Falcons’ fans?
