The draft is over and the grades are still coming in a week later. Bucky Brooks of NFL.com revealed his grades for the NFC West. He gave the Cardinals a B for their draft and wrote this:
Though the Cards missed the playoffs in 2013, their 10-6 record suggests they’re on the verge of becoming legitimate title contenders under coach Bruce Arians, who has teamed with GM Steve Keim to assemble a roster brimming with young talent. Looking at Arizona’s 2014 draft class, it seems possible that this squad could wrest the division crown from the Seahawksand 49ers this fall.
It’s a real nice thing to say and it’s certainly possible. Then again, the Rams and 49ers each wound up getting A grades on their draft. Seattle picked up a C. It’s anyone’s game and the division is a far cry from the one that sent a 7-9 clunker to the playoffs a few years back.
The NFC West is going to be the must-see division this year and the final three weeks of the season are going to be all-out battle to determine playoff spots and the division crown. These four teams are all on a path to success but only one of them is guaranteed a playoff spot. One of them is also guaranteed to be sitting at home in January when it’s playoff time.
