Predicting the Arizona Cardinals 53-man roster

With the Cardinals claiming defensive tackle Christian Tupou from the 49ers last week, the Cardinals are now at a full 90-man roster as they head through OTA’s and toward training camp in July. Here is my way-too-early prediction of what the roster will look like by the time week 1 rolls around next season.

There are a few surprises and I’ve come up with including one completely out-of-left field guess of a veteran the Cardinals may pick up to add depth and experience to their backfield. The Cardinals definitely appear to be the thinnest at the running back, offensive line (right guard and tackle specifically), and defensive backfield.

I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see the Cardinals pounce on someone who can add depth and experience at one or two of these spots after final cuts are made across the league.  I believe 4th round pick Logan Thomas and 6th round pick Walter Powell will be among the eight-man practice squad.
