The Ravens offseason just keeps getting worse at the running back position.
Lorenzo Taliaferro, the Coastal Carolina running back selected in the fourth round, 138th overall, was reportedly arrested early Tuesday morning near his hometown of Yorktown, Va.
The Williamsburg Police Department has reportedly charged Taliaferro with misdemeanor destruction of property and public drunkenness, after Taliaferro allegedly broke the window of a taxi cab around 1:15 in the morning.
Ravens coach John Harbaugh has been quoted as saying, “nothing good happens after midnight,” and this seems to be a perfect example. Taliaferro didn’t exactly have a history of character concerns, however he was ineligible for his sophomore season due to academic concerns.
No matter the cause, the result has dug a nice sized hole for the rookie before even getting started at OTAs this week. For all the expectations of the zone runner coming into the season, he will have his work cut out for him in more ways than one.
It remains to be seen what will come of this situation, both from a legal standpoint and team discipline.
