Peter King says Dan Marino is close to joining the Dolphins front office

Has the day finally come, will Dan Marino finally rejoin the Miami Dolphins front office?

Marino served as the Dolphins’ senior vice president of football operations in 2004, but quit just three weeks after taking the role, saying that he was not prepared to make the “lifestyle” adjustments it required.

King has now said that Marino is actually far down the road on the process of joining the Dolphins front office.

The timing of the news is a little strange seeing as Marino just joined the concussion lawsuit against the NFL.(UPDATE: Marino to pull out of concussion lawsuit)

There is no doubt Dolphins fans want to see Marino back with the aqua and orange but the question is what role will Marino play? Fans are hoping Marino can build a front office career path similar to John Elway who has enjoyed success in his role in Denver.

Marino has made it no secret that he would be very open to joining the Dolphins front office and now it seems like it is certainly a possibility.
