Indianapolis Colts make more roster adjustments to prepare for training camp

The Indianapolis Colts waived quarterback Seth Lobato and cornerback Keon Lyn today, the team announced. To fill the now available roster spots, they have signed a cornerback and center.

Joining the roster is free agent cornerback, Johnny Adams and FN Lutz, an undrafted free agent center.

Adams a 5-foot-11, 177 pound corner, has bounced around quite a bit since being an un-drafted free agent out of Michigan State in 2013. He was signed by the Houston Texans in May of 2013, after recording the fourth most interception return yards in school history. He was also a three-time All-Big Ten selection.

Adams played in four games last season with the Buffalo Bills on special teams, and then was acquired by Oakland for their practice squad in December of 2013. After being waived by the Raiders on May 20 Adams has found a home with the Colts. It’s actually his second stint with the team, as he signed with Indianapolis previously in August of 2013, but was waived soon after.

Lutz is a 6-foot-3, 290 pound center. He started in 42-of-44 career games at Indiana State University, including all 12 games during the 2013 season. In 2010, he was part of an offense that totaled 411.8 yards per game, starting in all 11 contests. The Sycamores also ranked fourth in the Missouri Valley Football Conference in yards per game that season. They broke a school record by scoring an average of 31.9 points per game, ranking them 15th in the nation and they were also 17th in yards per game.

We’ll see if either guy can make a splash and stick around for the 2014 season.
