Are any Buffalo Bills among the best MVP value bets for 2014?

Last week, the latest odds to win the Most Valuable Player award for the 2014 NFL season were released, with some of the usual suspects atop the list. But just because the wise guys in Vegas tend to know what they’re doing, that doesn’t necessarily mean all bets are created equal; in fact, many of them are nothing more than sucker bets, designed to get fans to lay down money in hopes that their favorite player has a storybook season.

For those that know where to look, however, there are some great values on the board. It’s all about getting favorable odds on a player that has a semi-legitimate scenario for winning the league’s MVP trophy.

Thus, wide receivers and defensive players are out; no wideout has ever won the award, not even Jerry Rice, and only two defenders have taken home the hardware, none since Lawrence Taylor in 1986. It’s quarterback heavy, since seven of the last 10 winners have been signal callers, with running backs being the only other viable option, having won the other three during the past decade.
