Mama Beast Mode: Marshawn Lynch’s mother blasts media

It wasn’t the greatest week for Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch. On Monday TMZ reported that Lynch’s entourage got into a scuffle while backstage at a rap concert in San Francisco. Later on photo proof emerged showing that Lynch stayed out of the fray, but by then the damage had already been done.

Then things got even worse. On Wednesday evening Yahoo Sports reporter Adam Getlin wrote a story claiming that the Seahawks were anticipating a no-show from Marshawn at next week’s mandatory mini-camp, the reasoning being that Lynch is unhappy with his current contract and wants more money. Later in the week Pro Football Talk debunked that claim; saying if Lynch is planning to not show up it’s news to the team.

Rumors of Lynch’s imminent retirement started swirling around social media at the speed of sound. Seahawks fans were worried if they believed it, and angered if they didn’t. One 12 had more reason to be annoyed than any other, though: Marshawn Lynch’s mother, Delisa.

Over the last couple of days Mama Lynch has sent several tweets out blasting the media:

Mama Lynch and her son are close. I would find it extremely hard to believe that baby Beast Mode would plan on making an enormous decision like retirement or holding out without consulting her first.

Just one more reason not to worry about these rumors. Of course anything can happen but I sincerely believe Marshawn is going nowhere in 2014. If you need further proof that Lynch is still bought in with the Seahawks, the man himself retweeted this photo yesterday:

He may not be a happy go lucky dude, but I think it’s safe to say that Lynch will be lining up against the Packers come September.
