Stanley Jean Baptiste picking up the New Orleans Saints defense quickly

Saints second round draft pick Stanley Jean Baptiste garnered a lot of attention throughout the draft process, being compared to the face of the new NFL corner (and Madden darling) Richard Sherman.

Lofty comparisons may put extra pressure on Jean Baptiste’s shoulders, but at Saints Mini Camp last week it was business as usual for the former Husker.

“I still have a lot of learning to do,” Jean Baptiste told “I’m just trying to pick it up piece by piece, [and associate] different names with stuff we used to do at Nebraska. For the most part I’m just trying to get myself more comfortable with the defense.”

Jean Baptiste went on to say he knew he was making mistakes during Mini Camp, but that his focus was on learning and giving 100% of his effort while on the field. He finished by adding that come the regular season wherever Rob Ryanb and the Saints defense needs him – whenever they need him – he’ll be ready.
