I hate that Sean Weatherspoon will be lost for the season

Coming in to his contract year, Falcons fans were expecting Sean Weatherspoon to have a standout season. However, his torn Achilles came as a devastating blow to the Falcons’ defense.

Many are skeptical at the Falcons’ ability to replace such a vocal player on this defense, and rightfully so. Sure, Spoon never really lived up to his potential, but it is hard to do that when you are injury prone. He was making the transition to ILB, and I was really interested to see how that move worked out for the team.

His leadership position on the Falcons defense needs to be addressed, and with many new faces, it is hard to determine who will take over that role.

I hate it for Sean, I hate it for Atlanta, and I hate it for the Falcons. Injuries are a part of football, but sustaining one while in the offseason is tough to stomach. Especially, when it is a player that is so beloved by the fans.
